This symptom is nonspecific and includes a broad differential diagnosis. The current review aims to present a general overview of the approach to dizziness as well as to discuss the more common causes in detail. Recent findings The term dizziness encompasses a large spectrum of symptomatology. Understanding how to differentiate between vestibular disorders and other types of dizziness is the key to the evaluation and management of dizzy patients. The distinction between central and peripheral vertigo will be emphasized and the various causes of each type of vertigo will be presented. Summary Dizziness is a common medical condition that impacts significantly on patients’ activities of daily living. This review outlines the clinical approach to dizziness to facilitate timely diagnosis and management of this complex symptom.

متن کاملUnicystic Ameloblastoma: Differential Diagnosis and Treatment Planning
Unicystic ameloblastoma is a tumor of odontogenic origin. It is not a rare neoplasm and most often the lesion is asympthomatic. However, large lesions may cause painless swelling of the jaws. Here we report a case of unicystic ameloblastoma with pain, swelling of the posterior jaws along with teeth mobility. Samples of incisional biopsy of the lesion and also interaoperative frozen section were...
متن کاملP155: Differential Diagnosis of Panic Attacks: Using a Decision Tree
Panic attacks are discrete episodes of intense fear or discomfort accompanied by symptoms such as palpitations, shortness of breath, sweating, trembling, derealization and a fear of losing control or dying. Although panic attacks are required for a diagnosis of panic disorder, they also occur in association with a host of other disorders listed in the 5h version of the diagnostic and statistica...
متن کاملDiagnosis of Different Types of Air-Gap Eccentricity Fault in Switched Reluctance Motors Using Transient Finite Element Method
This paper presents a method for diagnosis of eccentricity fault in a switched-reluctance motor (SRM) during offline and standstill modes. In this method, the fault signature is differential induced voltage (DIV) achieved by injecting diagnostic pulses to the motor windings. It will be demonstrated by means of results that there is a correlation between differential induced voltage and eccentri...
